Village Visit to Great Casterton Saturday 15th September 2012 Rutland Local History & Record Society regularly organises a visit for its members to one of Rutland’s historic villages for an afternoon of local history. We have village-related talks, an exhibition of local photographs and documents, and a leaflet-guided historical walk. Our visit to Great Casterton will be based on the Church Hall and you are invited to join us. The programme, which starts at 1.00pm, will include two talks: Travel in 18th Century Rutland and The Excavation of Great Casterton Roman Pottery Kiln The exhibition will include: Roman Casterton John Clare Woodhead Castle Old village photographs and much more Admission to the event is £4.00 and it is essential that places are pre-booked.
