The indenture is an agreement between Ruth Falkener of Uppingham, widow and
relict of William Falkener late of Uppingham, Gentleman, on the one part, and
Dorcas Barnes of Uppingham, Milliner, on the other part. It relates to the sale of
property by Ruth Falkener to Dorcas Barnes and the following are mentioned:

Woodfield of Uppingham
Buxton Leys
Stone Style
Medlyrott and Wood Close
In January 2011 Kevin Kurtz contacted Rutland Local History & Record Society
asking if we would be interested in an indenture dated 15 March 1734. Following
our positive response, Kevin donated the document to the Society and sent it over
from the United States at his own cost.
